Akan-Mashu National Park / Lake Akan

Yama Otoko Adventures

Well, I made it to Akan-Mashu National Park / Lake Akan

So glad I made the trip up here. The Lake is beautiful. The leaves are turning yellow, red, and orange. Below is a bit about Lake Akan:

Lake Akan is famous as a natural habitat for marimo (a type of algae), designated as a special natural monument. Lake Akan Hot Spring, which spreads across the shores of the lake, is lined with accommodations, restaurants, and gift shops that overlook the lake. There are also hot spring bath facilities for those taking a day trip, so anyone can enjoy a hot spring bath without any fuss. Outdoor sports such as canoeing are also a popular attraction. The lakeside is full of sightseeing spots, such as Lake Akan Ainu Kotan featuring Ainu culture, Ainu Theater Ikoro, and Bokke Walking Trail, just to name a few.

I will be here one more night and head back south to Ocaru to pickup my iPhone replacement.
If possible I will visit Tomamu and Little Tree before heading back to the big island and Aomori. Hopefully a visit in Hirosaki City.
